Inside the 2025 SolMateo Signature Kitchen Tour: Design That Gives Back
All Natural Stone is honored to once again serve as a Patron of the SolMateo Signature Kitchen Tour, a beloved annual event that brings together exceptional home design and a meaningful mission. This year’s tour invites guests into five distinct residences across San Mateo and Hillsborough—each kitchen a personal reflection of the family who calls it home.
From vibrant French Regency flair to quiet Mediterranean elegance, these kitchens offer more than aesthetic inspiration. They embody the values of connection, comfort, and creativity. As guests step inside, they are welcomed not only into beautiful spaces but into the heart of what makes a house a home—shared meals, everyday rituals, and conversations that often begin around the kitchen island.
But behind the design lies a deeper purpose: proceeds from the tour benefit the Mental Health Association of San Mateo County and the StarVista Crisis Center, two critical organizations addressing the rising mental health needs of our community. Services include a 24/7 suicide prevention hotline, mobile youth crisis response teams, and shelter for unhoused individuals and families.
SolMateo, a volunteer-led fundraising group, is the largest private donor to both organizations. Through events like this, they ensure continued support for those navigating crisis, homelessness, or mental health challenges. Each tour ticket is not just an invitation to experience beautiful design—it’s a contribution to stability, care, and hope.
Spotlight: European-Inspired Ranch on Costa Rica Avenue
One of the standout homes on this year’s tour was a European-inspired ranch in San Mateo, designed by longtime SolMateo supporter Colleen Saglimbeni of CDS Interiors. Featuring timeless materials sourced from All Natural Stone, the kitchen balances charm and functionality with warm, grounding finishes.
“The tour was a great success,” shared Colleen. “I’ve helped stage or feature homes for SolMateo for seven years now, and this house was a favorite. I used All Natural Stone for the tile flooring and countertops—so many people asked about the floors!”
The space showcases Vadara quartz countertops and a tile backsplash from Walker Zanger, both selections made for their beauty, durability, and timeless appeal. For guests, it was a clear reminder that design choices can be both deeply personal and widely inspiring.
