For a recent home in San Jose, Sandra set out to design a space that’s equal parts refined and relaxed — a true reflection of modern family life. Working hand in hand with the project’s architects from the earliest stages, she guided every decision, from finishes and fixtures to furniture and flow.
The result is a home that feels both architecturally crisp and emotionally warm. Sunlight dances across muted tones and natural textures, creating moments of calm and connection throughout. Every choice was made with intention: to celebrate the home’s strong sightlines while ensuring it remains inviting, livable, and undeniably beautiful.

Kitchen: Sleek, Practical, and Made for Living
In the kitchen, Sandra proves that simplicity can be striking. The countertops and backsplash are wrapped in Crystal Diamond porcelain slabs from Italy, their soft matte finish catching the light in the most understated way. Durable and easy to maintain, the material delivers everyday function without sacrificing elegance — the perfect finish for a family home that must gracefully withstand the wear and tear of life with young children.
Anchoring the room is an island clad in Absolute Blanc quartz from Portugal, installed in a sleek waterfall style that feels both sculptural and grounded. The polished quartz subtly reflects natural light, turning the island into a luminous centerpiece. The balance of these two materials — one refined and tactile, the other crisp and reflective — captures the essence of Sandra’s approach: practical luxury, designed for real life.

A Statement Fireplace That Anchors the Home
Few moments in the home are as commanding as the nearly floor-to-ceiling fireplace Sandra designed for the living space. Clad in large-format, cement-look porcelain tile, it appears as though it’s carved from a single monumental slab. The seamless installation and textural depth give it the quiet gravitas of stone, yet it remains durable enough for everyday family living.
